Proton Saga MC2

The Proton Saga MC2 facelift introduces a series of thoughtful updates to Malaysia’s beloved budget sedan, enhancing its appeal while maintaining affordability.

Interior Design

To begin with, the cabin of the Proton Saga has been updated to offer a more modern and functional space. Now, all variants feature a redesigned center console and a new air-conditioning control panel. Instead of the older three-dial setup, it now uses a simpler two-knob layout. As a result, both the appearance and ergonomics are improved for the driver and front passenger.

Furthermore, the Premium S variant adds several exclusive interior enhancements. These include red accents on the air vents, instrument cluster, and steering wheel buttons. It also features semi-leatherette seats with red stitching, a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, and a black headliner — all of which give the cabin a sportier and more premium feel.

In addition, the Premium S comes with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It runs an updated operating system and supports screen mirroring for both Android and iOS devices. Conveniently, the system also reminds users to “check your belongings” when the car shuts down.

Exterior Design

On the outside, the Proton Saga keeps its well-known shape. However, it adds subtle upgrades that improve visual appeal.
The front grille now features Proton’s new circular logo. Meanwhile, the Premium S variant adds a bold red “Ethereal Bow” strip for a more distinctive look.

Moreover, the Premium S includes sporty front and side skirts, 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels with a unique four-spoke design, and a black rear number plate garnish. Together, these give the car a more dynamic and upscale appearance.

Other variants also receive styling enhancements. For instance, black-painted wing mirror caps are now standard. The Premium variant adds LED daytime running lights and 15-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Standard AT gets 14-inch alloy wheels, and the Standard MT comes with 14-inch steel wheels with caps.

Safety & Performance

Under the hood, the Saga MC2 continues with a reliable 1.3-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. It delivers 95 PS at 5,750 rpm and 120 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual in the Standard MT or a four-speed automatic in all other variants.

In terms of safety, the entire range includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Additionally, automatic variants now come with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and Hill Hold Assist (HHA), offering better driving safety.

Furthermore, the Premium and Premium S variants are equipped with front parking sensors and a reverse camera, which make parking much easier.
