Proton Iriz Active brings a fresh look and feel to Proton’s B-segment hatchback lineup. It blends sporty SUV-inspired styling with modern tech and improved safety. As the flagship variant, the Iriz Active stands out with unique design cues and premium features.

Interior Design

Inside, the Proton Iriz Active gets a major upgrade. Most notably, it features a new 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. This screen is exclusive to the Executive and Active variants. It supports online navigation, music streaming, and weather updates. Additionally, it includes 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Active variant adds even more tech. It comes with the “Hi Proton” voice command system. This lets you control the air-conditioning and driver’s window by voice.

The cabin also feels sportier. It has semi-leather seats with red stitching and matching red seatbelts. “Active” badging appears on the seats and door panels.

Moreover, Proton updated the dashboard layout. It now includes digital air-conditioning controls and repositioned vents. The new center console adds storage, a revised gear lever, and extra USB ports—including one for dashcam use.

Exterior Design

The Iriz Active looks bolder than ever. Black plastic cladding wraps around the wheel arches and side skirts. Silver skid plates are found on both the front and rear bumpers. A striking silver frame around the lower grille completes the SUV-inspired look.

It also features LED headlamps with auto on/off and “follow me home” functions. A black roof, silver roof rails, and unique 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels give it a sporty flair.

To top it off, it’s available in vibrant colors like Passion Red and Citric Orange—exclusive to this variant.

Safety & Performance

Under the hood, the Iriz Active runs on a 1.6L DOHC VVT engine. It delivers 109 PS at 5,750 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Power goes through a CVT gearbox, ensuring smooth acceleration.

In terms of safety, Proton didn’t cut corners. The Iriz Active includes six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, and hill hold assist. It also uses a reinforced body with hot-press formed steel. Thanks to these features, it earned a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

Variant Comparison

The Iriz comes in three variants:

1.3 Standard CVT :
Comes with halogen headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, basic audio with Bluetooth, and four airbags.
1.6 Executive CVT :
Adds LED DRLs, 16-inch wheels, leatherette seats, 8-inch infotainment screen, and six airbags.
1.6 Active CVT :
Includes everything in the Executive. Plus, it gets LED headlamps, SUV-style cladding, red-accented interior, voice control, and extra safety features.
